BEST NEW MUSIC - J. Irja’s Incredible Rise

The Canadian-born artist’s story of perseverance in the face of unimaginable tragedy is genuinely inspirational.

It takes an exceptional level of confidence to launch a brand called Sexy Psycho. But given the litany of struggles J. Irja has overcome, its no surprise that she is so assured, both as an artist and entrepreneur. We had a conversation about her incredible rise through the music industry, the inspiration behind her best songs, and her plans for the future.

J. Irja is joined by Benny The Butcher on ‘Bounce Back,’ a song that could easily be described as one of the most impressive hip-hop tracks of the year. She is an exceptionally compelling figure, both on screen and on the microphone. ‘Bounce Back’ shows off her signature swagger, as she celebrates the riches she has accumulated while leaving her haters and detractors in the dust.

In recent years, J. Irja has built a devoted following by releasing some of the most emotionally charged music in the genre. With ‘Bounce Back,’ she has announced that not only is she here to stay, but she is going to make a meaningful impact on the world of hip-hop. Expect to hear much more from this iconoclastic star.

Q: You’ve achieved an incredible amount of success in spite of some huge tragedies. Can you talk about how that has impacted your recent music?

A: I pour my heart and soul into my music, all of the highs and the lows. I I want people who are struggling to be able to put on my songs and feel a sense of comfort and therapy like I do. The roller coaster that brought me here has shaped me and pushed me to keep going no matter what, and that’s what I want to inspire my listeners to do.

Q: Now that you’ve arrived, what is the key message you want to share with your audience?

A: Honestly, I don’t think that I will ever feel like “I’ve arrived“ because there will always be another level that I wanna reach and another goal I want to accomplish. I want people to see how far I’ve come, despite homelessness and brain damage and severe trauma, and a lot of other tragedies so they can know that they can make it no matter what they’ve been through too. You can do anything you put your mind to and it’s never too late to change or become better.

Q: What do you have to say to the people who doubted you?

A: Thank you for doubting me and placing your bets against me, because all it did was made me go harder. It helped me show everyone that no matter the odds of no matter who is betting against you, you can do anything you put your mind to. All you did was make my brands and my fortitude stronger than ever. And the best is yet to come.

Q: What can your fans expect from you in the future?

A: Now that I have pushed through these dark times with my trilogy “stages of grief“ I am going full force and releasing more music at a faster pace than I ever have before. Everything is going up and we are going to continue to get better and better. I love everyone who listens to and shares my music, I literally do all of this for you. RIP Bekah ❤️🖤
